Crossover Alert: Maluma Hits The Studio With Timbaland

Maluma may soon be America's newest Latin heartthrob if he's eyeing an English crossover campaign.

Over the weekend, the star took to Instagram to share several photos of himself in the studio alongside Timbaland. If you're not too familiar with the Colombian star's work, we suggest you take your attention off of "Despacito" for just a moment and listen to "Chantaje," his smash collaboration with Shakira, or his current single "Felices los 4."

Even if a Stateside domination is on the agenda, don't expect to see Maluma ditch his Spanish-language material. "I don't want leave out my Spanish or my Latin world, but I want to grow in this American world," the 23-year-old chart-topper recently said in an interview with Idolator. "And to do it, I have to do it in English, because if I don’t, they are not going to understand what I say. So yes, I want to release some music in English, but I will try to keep the balance — songs in Spanish and English."
